I have been watching The Devil Wears Prada over and over and over again on HBO.The set decoration is amazzzinngly done by Lydia Marks which also did set decoration for the 'Sex and The City Movie'!!! Only recently have I been paying attention to the set interiors and feel its a great place to find inspiration for you own home. Above are pics of each apartment from the HBO series. I can't wait to see the movie and what the girls new diggs will look like.

Haworth & ID Magazine Scholarship
Haworth and Interior Design Magazine have teamed up to offer a scholarship competition to architects, interior designers, and students! The scholarship involves designing a space for a hypothetical client using Haworth products. I am personally excited about this particular scholarship because I was an intern at a Interior Design firm, who served as an authorized dealer for their products, and believe no one's office should go without Haworth seating !! If you are afraid or confused about how to unify different colors in your space you are not alone! Believe it or not, it's easy to create your very own "room experience!" You can start out by taking a few of your favorite personal items (i.e. your new blouse, art, a piece of fruit, shoes) and making a collage or even a mini design board. Include things that inspire you and make you happy. Then head over to your local paint store, pick out bedding, and add accessories. {pic above via sherwin-williams }

Your home should tell a story about you! Don't worry about what others say, think, or do with their space. What do you need/want your personal space to say when it tells the Biography of Insert Name Here??
Often Times we will see a picture in a magazine, watch a TV show, or even visit a friends home and say "I love that or I want that!" Then we proceed to recreate the same room with a sorted mess of odds and ends and no real direction. Ultimately ending with a room full of trinkets, scratching our heads, thinking "I don't understand??Where did I go wrong??"

Discover You! Take time to discover what style you naturally gravitate towards! What destination do you want to make a permanent get-a-way in your home? Take a peek into a few interior design galleries online, visit your local bookstore, pay attention to little things that make you happy, and don't be afraid to mix and match whatever it is you can't live without!! Be Patient and let the "Design Process" evolve! You will end up with the room you love-- and not your husbands-cousin- sister gorgeous living room.
